Personal Solutions  |  Privilege Pay

When you’re busy it’s easy to lose track of your checking account balance. We are pleased to be able to offer Privilege Pay protection to you. This means if items are presented to your checking account and there are not enough funds available, they will be paid up to your Privilege Pay limit.

Effective July 1, 2010, we will not authorize and pay overdrafts for your everyday debit card transactions unless you ask us to. This change is due to a recent change in federal regulations. We do authorize and pay overdrafts for checks and other transactions made using your checking account number and automatic bill payments.

After sixty days of activity in your share draft account it will be determined if you qualify for Privilege Pay. If you would like us to pay overdrafts for everyday debit card purchases you make at a store, online, or by telephone, you must request that we do so by opting in. To opt in, you must follow the directions on the form What You Need to Know about Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees, and indicate that you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on everyday debit card transactions.

The maximum benefit for Privilege Pay is $500, including the fees. Each item paid by Privilege Pay will be charged a fee of $25.00.* If you have exhausted your Privilege Pay limit any items attempting to clear your account will be returned as insufficient. In addition, if you have a loan that is delinquent, your Privilege Pay will be suspended until the loan is brought current. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts. You will have up to 16 days to bring the account to a positive balance or your Privilege Pay will be suspended until the account is brought to a positive balance.

To opt in for Privilege Pay, or for information about alternatives we offer for covering overdrafts, such as a line of credit or linking this account to another account with us, contact us at 1-800-343-1028 or info@affinitycuia.org.

*The fee is imposed of overdrafts created by checks, debit cards, or by other electronic means.
