Affinity Credit Union commits to donate $10,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa in 2019
Affinity Credit Union has pledged to donate $10,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa throughout the remainder of 2019. Included in this donation is a Blue Ribbon sponsorship of the Food Bank of Iowa’s “Smoke Out Hunger” event, as well as the commitment to fund the establishment of a food pantry at Des Moines North High School.
“Upon my arrival to the Des Moines area in late 2018, I was eager to establish a relationship with the Food Bank of Iowa,” said Affinity Credit Union CEO Jim Dean. “Hunger is a serious issue that impacts so many in our community, and in the spirit of our mission of ‘building better lives’, Affinity Credit Union is proud to be able to help the Food Bank of Iowa in their mission to fight hunger.”
The Food Bank of Iowa gathers and distributes nutritious food through partnerships with community organizations. They strive each day to ensure that no child, senior or family in Iowa has to struggle to find food.
Affinity Credit Union has been a mainstay in the greater Des Moines and central Iowa region for 70 years. Guided by their mission statement of “Building Better Lives”, Affinity services the needs of over 15,000 member-owners and is proud to be named as a 2018 Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register.
